I thought I would share a cute story that happened today, the day before the end of the school year. We have been reading City Of Ember this month, and I have tied it in to curriculum because we were also studying electricity. However, only a handful of kids caught the connection, and I'm totally okay with that (I don't believe every moment has to be teaching, kids need to just veg out sometimes and listen)!! Today, we were watching the movie for our reward, and there is a scene that didn't happen in the book where you can see all the electrical current rushing through the wires, in slow motion. My kids were soooo cute, "Oh, man, that's too much electricity!!!" Then another added, "Too much current for that wire!" and a third, "The wire is going to short!!!" And then, three of them at the same time, "HEY--you just used a science vocab word during our reward day!" HAHAHAHA!!! It's moments like that, I feel like they got it. I did something. I taught my kids something. It was a reward for me. :)
Happy 2nd to Last Day of School, friends!
