So, My kids are at their dad's for another day, and I'm trying to get somethings done (although I will be the first to admit just laying on the couch w/o any other distractions is nice too!!) I actually went shopping last night, and TRIED clothes on before buying them. And not only did I try them on, but when I had the wrong size, I had the privilege of going and getting the right size instead of just putting them back because I had that kind of time. What a dream! :)
Anyway, I have been doing laundry today, and as I do it, I have been thinking about it. Normally, it's throw a load in and go do 10 other things, but today I really got to thinking. How do you separate your loads? I tend to do a colored load (cold), a towel and sheets load (hot), a jeans load (cold), and a load of whites (hot).
As a side note, why do white scoks NEVER come out of the dryer in equal numbers? I never have this problem with colored socks. And, if my white socks do come out in equal numbers, an odd number of the socks will have holes in them, making it an odd number again. What's up with that? Side note over!
If I have a huge load to do (or one of a large category), sometimes I will even do sub loads, for example instead of just coloreds, I may do a load of khakis, a load of darks (blacks and browns), a load of lights, a load of red/pinks, a while load to bleach and a white load to just use vinegar. And every once in a while, I will combine my jeans with another dark load. Everything goes in the dryer because I have a do not hang dry clause on my lease, but I'm considering asking if I can have that removed as prices continue to rise! I used to hang dry some things (jeans, towels...those I would fluff in the dryer....and whites. There was a time I did baby clothes separate, but those days are gone! (It still amazes me how many clothes a little baby can have!) I will be the first to admit I'm no good at laundry, so I'd love to hear what you do!
Well, the dryer just buzzed (oh, and I never run a full dryer cycle either...I can do two loads in one cycle), so I'm off again. Can't wait to hear your exciting laundry methods!! When I get my camera working again, maybe I'll take a picture of my laundry area!

Oh, can I just say I have the best family ever? More to come...
Hi Missy, I just found your blog by reading your comment on another blog. I have just been reading about the no clothes line rule over there. Here in Australia a clothes line out the back is part of who we are, whether we use them or not. I do use my dryer often, I love how they make everything soft. I still wash my babies clothes separately, he is only 3 months though.

So you wash two loads before you dry them? Why has that never occurred to me!
