You know what? Everyone needs a best friend. A lifelong best friend. I think if I could have one wish for my kids, other than that they choose Jesus, it's that they have that. Sometimes, when things feel really crappy, all I have to do is call, and she's there for me. This weekend, I was lucky enough to have my bf and her husband (who is a saint, btw), and her kids come to visit.
We are amazed again at so many little things... Our kids (who are very different ages, well, kinda...mine are g-14, b-11, g-6, hers are g-11, b-8, b-3) get along in birth order fabulously. I don't think we heard them fight once.
She and I buy the same things w/o talking to each other about it AT ALL. We can end each others sentences. For the most part, we like the same foods....even both consider our specialty food lasagne. It was funny b/c she told me I was very brave to make "her" specialty food for dinner, and then admitted it was delish. :)
She, and her dh, are some of the most generous people I know. They gave us a trampoline, then came this weekend to set it up. I think it totally just made my summer so much easier!!! Her husband also helped me (ok, did for me) put together the fridge I'm selling. Someone, who shall remain unnamed due to the positive nature of my blog, decided to take it apart into about 20 pieces, including taking the doors off. My wonderful dad brought it to me from Iowa, but didn't have time to put it together. So, my friend's husband did it, just because. What a nice guy.
I just hope I can be that kind of friend for those around me. (pictures to come)
And now, I'm off to the deck for a refreshing end of the day drink.
